Joby Aviation and Toyota Formalize Joint Venture for eVTOL Production
Toyota Motor Corporation and Joby Aviation have entered the initial phase of a strategic manufacturing alliance, launching a joint venture to scale production of electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft. The partnership merges Joby’s aviation technology with Toyota’s signature manufacturing systems to accelerate commercial air taxi deployment.

JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby Aviation, emphasized that the alliance builds on a decade of guidance from Toyota, framing the new joint venture as a commitment to making aerial mobility an everyday reality. Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, described the initiative as a natural extension of the automaker’s mission to provide mobility for all, shifting the focus from traditional ground transportation to the skies to create new value for society.
