Asia Cement Earns 2026 Social Empowerment Award for Tribal Partnership
Asia Cement Corporation has secured the 2026 Asia Responsible Enterprise Award for Social Empowerment, marking eight consecutive years of recognition for its sustainability efforts. The accolade honors the company's long-term collaboration with Indigenous tribes in Taiwan, specifically focusing on its co-governance and community resilience initiatives in Hualien County.

Financial backing for these efforts remains substantial. In 2025, the company invested NT$15.52 million into a benefit-sharing mechanism supporting local education, emergency aid, and cultural preservation. Notably, the firm’s Taroko Mountain Market initiative has transitioned from corporate-led to independent management by tribal residents, generating over NT$1.1 million in sales for local vendors. Beyond Hualien, the company allocated NT$355 million toward community development across all operating sites, a figure representing 4.22% of its total operating profit. These programs now align with Taiwan’s Indigenous Peoples Basic Act, with the company facilitating land-rights restoration for approximately 15% of relevant reserved territories as of 2026.
