A 585% growth rate in chicken stick sales has pushed New Primal into a major nationwide retail expansion at Target stores. The Charleston-based brand is rolling out its latest poultry snacks alongside a complete visual overhaul of its Snack Mates line, aiming to capture a broader share of the protein-conscious consumer market.

The brand is introducing Rotisserie Seasoned and Buffalo Style chicken sticks to the national retail chain, catering to demand for convenient, clean-label nutrition. Alongside these additions, New Primal is scaling the distribution of its Chicken & Maple and Classic Turkey Snack Mates. To ensure brand consistency, the company has redesigned its packaging, moving toward a unified aesthetic that features a prominent logo and a clear viewing window on the pouch to signal quality to shoppers.

This move comes as the company cements its position within the $3 billion meat stick market. Data from Catalina shows that 60% of Snack Mates buyers are new to the category, indicating that the brand is expanding the consumer base rather than simply displacing existing sales. Founder Jason Burke noted that the launch emphasizes the company's commitment to making clean protein accessible for families. The products, which are gluten-free, soy-free, and low in sugar, are available now in single-serve and five-count packs at Target locations and online.
