The collaboration focuses on delivering sovereign AI systems that keep sensitive data within client-controlled environments, specifically targeting highly regulated sectors across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
This shift addresses a growing market demand for data independence. According to Gartner, geopolitical factors are expected to drive 50% of cloud AI workloads to sovereign deployment models by 2029, a sharp increase from 5% in 2025. By embedding human-in-the-loop compliance frameworks, the partnership aims to provide institutions with the ability to scale AI without relinquishing control over their internal intelligence or regulatory standing. Manoj Mehta, President of EMEA at Cognizant, noted that the collaboration allows regulated organizations to pursue transformational outcomes while maintaining strict data sovereignty.
