Dublin’s Pilot Photonics Secures €10.4 Million EIC Funding

For Pilot Photonics, the EIC Accelerator support arrives at a pivotal commercial moment. The capital infusion will bankroll product qualification and the transition to high-volume manufacturing, alongside an aggressive hiring strategy in Ireland and abroad. Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke noted that the firm’s advancements in semiconductor technology are vital to Europe’s digital sovereignty, particularly in 6G mobile networks and secure communications.

CEO William Oppermann described the selection as a major endorsement of the company’s commercial ambition. With the backing of Enterprise Ireland, which facilitates access to such transformational finance, the firm is now positioned to move from breakthrough research into industrial-scale production. This funding provides the necessary platform to establish the supply chain infrastructure required to compete on a global stage.
