HSBC Shuffles Wealth Leadership as Dimitri Anghelakis Takes Trust Role

Dimitri Anghelakis will take the helm of HSBC’s trust and fiduciary services division on August 17, relocating from London to Hong Kong. He succeeds Brent York, a veteran of more than forty years who plans to remain with the bank as an advisor until 2027 to oversee the transition.

Anghelakis joined the bank in 2017, initially leading business development for life and insurance partnerships before moving into roles as chief of staff for wealth and personal banking and head of the office of the group chairman. Under his new mandate, he will report directly to Ida Liu, CEO of HSBC Private Bank.

The trust and fiduciary services unit, which focuses on legacy planning, succession management, and wealth preservation for families and philanthropists, is shifting to become part of the HSBC Private Bank structure. Liu credited York for his decades of service, noting that he leaves behind a division built on deep expertise in multi-generational support.
