Longwell Targets Data Centers With New Biomimetic EC Fan Platform

Engineers seeking alternatives to European-made ventilation components now have a new option from Ningbo-based Longwell. The manufacturer’s latest biomimetic EC fan platform, the LWBE3G, claims static efficiency gains of up to 82 percent and significant noise reduction, positioning the hardware for direct integration into existing HVAC and cooling infrastructure.

The LWBE3G series utilizes a nature-inspired, backward-curved impeller design that improves static efficiency by 5–8 percentage points over conventional models. This adjustment translates to 8–12 percent energy savings at equivalent airflow levels. Beyond efficiency, the units operate 4–6 dB(A) quieter than standard offerings, with a reduction in high-frequency noise exceeding 50 percent. The fans also feature a 25–30 percent extended stall margin, with durability ratings reaching 60,000 hours of L10 bearing life at 40°C.

Technical integration is managed through support for multiple protocols, including Modbus RTU, BACnet MS/TP, PWM, and 0–10V control. The platform holds global certifications, including CE, UL 507, and ETL, and adheres to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. Performance data is validated via AMCA 210 / ISO 5801 testing. In a 2024 European retrofit project, the LWBE3G450-188PT-09 unit demonstrated a 30 percent energy reduction while operating at high pressure. Longwell is emphasizing its supply chain agility, offering sample lead times of 1–3 days and production cycles of 15–30 days, a sharp contrast to the 14–22 week lead times currently common for premium imported EC fans.
