Fanberg’s appointment signals a focus on expanding K-BID’s affiliate network and targeting untapped corporate and government sectors. Having started his career with the firm in 2013, he brings deep institutional knowledge to the role, balancing the company's established digital infrastructure with a commitment to local, transparent service. He plans to maintain the brand’s ethical standards while shepherding growth across its diverse marketplace, which currently lists between 25,000 and 35,000 items at any given time.
P.J. Fanberg Returns to Lead K-BID Online Auctions
After a six-year tenure at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, P.J. Fanberg has been appointed president of K-BID.com. The move marks a homecoming for the industry veteran, who previously spent seven years as the company’s vice president of operations and remains a key figure in the Minnesota State Auctioneers Association.

Since its inception in 2002, K-BID has scaled into a regional powerhouse, facilitating over 4,500 auctions annually. By leveraging a network of independent affiliates, the platform connects hundreds of thousands of bidders to everything from industrial machinery to consumer goods. Fanberg emphasizes that the core strength of the business remains its local accessibility, aiming to ensure that the transition in leadership supports the existing ecosystem of sellers and buyers without disrupting the proven, community-focused auction model.
