The acquisition integrates Converlens’ specialized AI technology into Open Point’s existing stakeholder management suite. By automating the analysis of large-scale qualitative data—such as public submissions, consultation transcripts, and stakeholder communications—the combined platform intends to replace the spreadsheet-heavy workflows that frequently delay project reporting.
Open Point acquires AI specialist Converlens to scale public sector feedback
Brisbane-based engagement platform Open Point has acquired AI analytics firm Converlens, aiming to bridge the gap between collecting community feedback and extracting actionable insights. The merger consolidates two Australian tech providers, specifically targeting the manual bottlenecks currently hindering government and infrastructure planning projects across the country.

Open Point CEO Ben Cowling noted that the deal shifts the focus from mere data collection to measurable decision-making, allowing agencies to process feedback with higher transparency and speed. Converlens co-founder Clint Walker added that the move addresses the resource strain on engagement teams, who are often overwhelmed by the volume of community input. With this consolidation, the company reinforces its footprint in the Australian public sector, providing a unified digital infrastructure for planning, utilities, and government organizations to manage the entire lifecycle of public engagement.
