The facility, located at 1554 Surgeons Drive, will house 19 critical illness recovery beds and 28 acute rehabilitation beds. Select Medical will serve as the majority owner and managing partner, overseeing operations as the site undergoes a planned expansion. Construction is currently underway, with project completion expected by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026.
Select Medical and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Launch Joint Venture
A 47-bed specialty hospital in Tallahassee will now operate under a joint venture between Select Medical and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. The partnership, which formalizes a two-decade-old relationship, combines Select Medical’s national post-acute care expertise with the established regional network of TMH to serve patients across the Florida Panhandle.
Tom Mullin, CEO of Select Medical, noted that the move creates a seamless continuum of care for patients recovering from serious illness. Ryan Smith, president of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, added that the proximity of these specialized services to the main TMH campus improves care coordination for the North Florida and South Georgia region. This integration aims to keep complex recovery services accessible to patients close to their home communities.
