The tour centers on the SUPERCHARGED Boost Bus, a mobile cultural hub designed to bypass traditional venue barriers by bringing performances and creative programming directly into neighborhoods. By partnering with local churches, museums, and civic organizations, the project seeks to honor the region's long-standing history of artistic innovation and entrepreneurship. Key programming includes Chicago’s Gospel Best, a curated showcase highlighting local gospel artists identified through church networks across the city.
Culture In Motion Roadshow Brings Apollo Legacy to the Midwest
The Culture In Motion roadshow, a collaboration between Kwanza Jones’ SUPERCHARGED platform and The Apollo, has launched its Midwest tour. The initiative aims to amplify local Black creative talent across cities including Chicago, Detroit, and St. Louis, blending community-led artistry with the historic cultural influence of the Harlem-based institution.

Kwanza Jones, the founder and executive producer of the roadshow, emphasizes that the initiative is built to connect grassroots talent with a broader national legacy. Supported by the Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative, the project serves as a modern extension of The Apollo’s nearly century-long commitment to centering Black voices. The tour continues through the Midwest with stops in Indianapolis, Cleveland, and Detroit, aiming to foster direct engagement between professional artists and local creative communities.
