Matt Newnham has joined Citi Wealth in London to lead asset manager partnerships throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the UK. Reporting to global head Christine Curtiss, Newnham returns to the firm after a decade-long absence, having previously held roles at Citi in Luxembourg, Hong Kong, and Sydney between 2004 and 2014. His appointment follows a tenure as chief commercial officer at Euroclear’s funds business, adding to his 25-year track record in global fund distribution and platform management.

A series of high-level shifts is reshaping wealth management landscapes across London and Guernsey, as Citi Wealth brings in Matt Newnham to drive asset manager partnerships, while Bank Aston marks its expansion by naming Nick Leale as chief operating officer to oversee its maturing operational strategy.

In Guernsey, Bank Aston has appointed Nick Leale as chief operating officer. Leale, a local resident with over two decades of banking leadership, previously assisted the firm with its successful 2024 licensing application. He now takes charge of the bank’s operational strategy and business support functions. His mandate includes managing infrastructure migration and regulatory compliance for the group, which operates as the first locally-licensed bank in the jurisdiction in a generation, catering primarily to investment funds, family offices, and offshore trustees.
