The European Patent Office has delivered a definitive blow to Fujikura Ltd, issuing a final and non-appealable ruling that revokes the company's European Patent EP 3796060. The decision, handed down by the Technical Board of Appeal on June 24, effectively resolves a long-standing legal conflict in the United Kingdom in favor of STL.
Dr. Badri Gomatam, Group CTO at STL, framed the decision as a vindication of the firm’s vertically integrated 'Glass to Data Center' strategy. Beyond the immediate legal resolution, the company views the victory as evidence of its capacity to defend its intellectual property across competitive international markets, including North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
