The project finds its kinetic spark in the single "Make Me Lose Control," recorded at Studio de la Ruelle with producer Jean-Sébastien Brault-Labbé. The track preserves a sense of spontaneity, featuring a last-minute addition of live drums that lends the recording a visceral, physical weight. In contrast, "Forever" grounds the EP in stability, drawing on imagery from Weil’s own wedding planning to contrast fleeting experiences with the reality of long-term devotion.
The title track serves as the project’s emotional anchor, utilizing maritime metaphors to process themes of betrayal and forgiveness. By weaving lyrics about shipwrecks and open water, Weil explores how individuals evolve following life-altering circumstances. Throughout the EP, she maintains full creative control as the sole songwriter, while Brault-Labbé manages the production, mixing, and instrumentation.
