Eve Air Mobility Advances eVTOL Program Toward Transition Flight Testing

With dozens of successful test flights completed since December 2025, Eve Air Mobility arrives at the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow shifting focus from conceptual design to active transition evaluation. The company is now preparing to begin production of six conforming prototypes later this year to accelerate certification.

Eve Air Mobility Advances eVTOL Program Toward Transition Flight Testing

CEO Johann Bordais maintains that the company is moving past theoretical possibilities by gathering performance data from its engineering prototype. The current flight test program has already validated hover and low-speed capabilities, with partial transition flights scheduled for this summer and full wingborne cruise evaluations expected before year-end. This technical progress is intended to reduce certification risk and provide operators with tangible benchmarks for future commercialization.

Supporting this hardware progress, Eve is leveraging Embraer’s aerospace background to deploy its TechCare maintenance suite and Vector air traffic management software. These systems are central to the company’s strategy of simplifying urban airspace integration. The firm currently holds a pipeline of approximately 2,700 pre-orders, including recent binding agreements with Revo in Brazil and AirX in Japan. These contracts, which include pre-delivery payments, signal a shift in operator confidence as the industry prepares for service entry by 2029.
