The Valley Industrial Association (VIA) and the Greater Chicago Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (GCAMP) bestowed the awards following an evaluation of the company’s participation in the Benchmarking for Excellence program. Judges cited a 16 percent improvement in performance metrics and praised leadership for embedding improvement initiatives directly into the company’s daily culture.

The Geneva, Illinois, manufacturing facilities of Amsted Automotive have secured the top honor at the 2026 VIA Spark Awards Gala, clinching the Overall VIA Spark Award alongside accolades for workforce development and operational excellence, reflecting the company’s sustained focus on continuous improvement and employee engagement in the Chicago region.

Amsted’s Geneva operations utilize two specialized plants to support aerospace, defense, and automotive sectors. One facility draws on 50 years of powder metal expertise, while the other leverages over 120 years of cold-forming experience. Together, these sites output more than 50 million components annually. Plant Manager Elisa Sorrentino credited the staff’s dedication for the recognition, noting that such efforts are central to maintaining the company’s competitive edge. This latest win follows a string of six additional awards earned by the firm over the past four years, cementing its status as a regional leader in industrial manufacturing.
