More than 2,100 educators and industry leaders gathered in Phoenix last week for the 23rd annual Fusion conference, where D2L unveiled a suite of artificial intelligence tools aimed at automating content creation and deepening student engagement within the Brightspace digital learning ecosystem.

Beyond product updates, the conference hosted extensive discussions on AI governance and cybersecurity. Experts from institutions like the University of Maryland Global Campus and partners including AWS and Okta examined how organizations can maintain data integrity while scaling digital infrastructure. The summit also featured strategic sessions on workforce development, with Abacus Data CEO David Coletto addressing the role of institutional trust amid ongoing economic and technological volatility. D2L confirmed that the conference will move to Denver, Colorado, for its 2027 edition.
