Winemakers Anna and Mario Monticelli, who hold a combined half-century of experience across Napa Valley, Italy, and France, steer the production of these ultra-premium micro-lots. The project finds its aesthetic edge through their daughter, Ilaria, a student whose design education spans the International School of Milan, New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, and Polimoda in Florence. Her work, which began with sewing at age eight, now serves as the visual identity for the brand.
Atelier Ilaria Blends Napa Cabernet with Florentine Fashion
Drawing inspiration from the Renaissance streets of Florence, the 2024 Atelier Ilaria Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon arrives as a fusion of viticulture and haute couture. The release marks a collaborative evolution for the Monticelli family, pairing small-lot artisanal wine with custom silk-screened labels designed by the youngest family member, Ilaria.
"Every bottle tells a story, and this release is a reflection of our time in Florence," Anna Monticelli said. The label designs are intended to rotate with each vintage, creating a portfolio that tracks Ilaria’s creative growth alongside the family's winemaking output. By merging traditional Napa Cabernet crafting with a fashion-forward sensibility, the family aims to position their small-lot wines as accessible luxury for collectors who value the intersection of fine craftsmanship and textile art.
