Bird joins the Bridgewest Group portfolio company at a critical juncture, tasked with broadening the firm’s reach across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Northern Europe. His background includes leadership roles at Orion Pharma, Medreich, and Meda, as well as prior tenures with global giants like Johnson & Johnson and Sanofi-Aventis. His expertise in commercial strategy and partnership-led growth is expected to bolster LumaCina’s position as a reliable supplier of high-potency hospital medications.

Mark Crotty, who has been instrumental in shaping the company’s current platform, will remain as Executive Chair to oversee long-term strategy and infrastructure development. This division of labor aims to pair Crotty’s architectural oversight with Bird’s operational execution. According to Dr. Masood Tayebi, co-founder of Bridgewest Group, this leadership structure ensures both continuity and the commercial rigor necessary for the company’s next phase of growth. LumaCina currently manufactures its sterile injectable line—ranging from analgesics to IV fluids—in Perth and is actively pursuing an aggressive licensing and acquisition program to widen its market footprint.
