Terakeet Invitational Golf Tournament Raises $151,000 for Syracuse Schools

A gathering of 108 golfers and 40 corporate sponsors at the Skaneateles Country Club raised a record $151,000 for the Syracuse City School District on July 13. The inaugural Terakeet Invitational, organized by the non-profit Cause For The Cuse, marks a significant expansion in local educational support.

The tournament drew high-profile support from Buffalo Bills players, including Spencer Brown, Dalton Kincaid, and Cole Bishop, who collectively contributed $5,000 and signed memorabilia to the cause. Brown, who participated in the event alongside Terakeet CEO Mac Cummings, emphasized that supporting Syracuse students remains a priority for those connected to the region. The proceeds are earmarked for school supplies and external educational programs, such as the SummerJazz Workshop, which relies on the organization to provide access for students who would otherwise be unable to attend.

Founded by Terakeet employees in 2013, Cause For The Cuse has assisted over 20,000 students across 30 schools in the area. What began as a grassroots effort to provide basic classroom supplies has evolved into a broader initiative aimed at fostering long-term academic success. Cummings noted that even as Terakeet has expanded into a national entity, the company remains committed to investing in the local community. This year’s event serves as the largest fundraiser in the organization's history, effectively scaling its impact through increased corporate partnerships and community engagement.
