Cartrett replaces Patrick Sheahan, inheriting a company that has aggressively integrated artificial intelligence into its emergency response and healthcare platforms. The firm’s recent technical roadmap includes the launch of AI Assist—a tool designed to automate incident reviews—and Unified Analytics, a platform aimed at bridging data silos across EMS and hospital systems. These investments come as the company reports record bookings for 2026, signaling a shift toward more automated, real-time clinical workflows.
ImageTrend Taps Chris Cartrett as CEO to Scale AI Emergency Software
Conflict lead: While ImageTrend has doubled its revenue through a rapid expansion of AI-driven tools, the company is pivoting its leadership to meet urgent demands for faster product deployment. Chris Cartrett, formerly of Aderant, will take the helm on August 3, 2026, to steer the firm’s next phase of growth.

Board Chairman Ryan Harper noted that the leadership change is a direct response to customers demanding faster innovation cycles. Cartrett, who previously led business management software initiatives at Aderant, is tasked with aligning ImageTrend’s product development with the high-pressure needs of first responders. His mandate focuses on reducing documentation burdens and ensuring that patient data flows seamlessly across the care continuum. As the company prepares for the upcoming release of its Clinical Registry, Cartrett will oversee the transition toward a fully connected ecosystem, aiming to turn raw incident data into actionable intelligence for the 11,000 agencies the company currently serves.
