ESA Honors Lawmakers and iCivics for Video Game Industry Contributions
The Entertainment Software Association has named Representatives Stephanie Bice and Jim McGovern, alongside the non-profit iCivics, as the 2026 recipients of its Interactive Entertainment Impact Awards. The honors recognize efforts to foster industry growth and leverage gaming as a tool for both economic development and civic education.

Bice, serving as co-chair of the Congressional Video Game and Esports Caucus, and McGovern were selected for their legislative support of intellectual property protections and workforce development. For their part, iCivics was recognized for its 15-year history of utilizing interactive gameplay to teach students the complexities of democracy and civic engagement. These accolades arrive as the industry reports substantial financial growth, with consumer spending reaching 60.8 billion dollars in 2025 and contributing 65 billion dollars to the U.S. GDP.
