The research, published in the journal Healthcare, examined 55 nurses over a four-week period. Participants using the CBD-coated fabric saw their Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores improve from 9.0 to 7.0. Beyond subjective feedback, objective data recorded an increase in both light and deep sleep durations, alongside a statistically significant reduction in anxiety levels, with a p-value below 0.005.
CBD-Coated Bedding Shows Clinical Promise for Shift Workers
A clinical study led by China Medical University confirms that pillow covers infused with CBD microcapsules significantly reduce anxiety and improve rest. By targeting shift nurses struggling with sleep disturbances, researchers observed a measurable shift in sleep quality, offering a non-invasive alternative for those managing high-stress schedules.

Developed by Taiwan-based Song Beam Bedding, the technology utilizes Belgian microcapsule extraction to weave hemp-derived CBD into fabric fibers. Pressure and friction from movement trigger the slow, continuous release of trace amounts of the compound. To address safety concerns, the products underwent SGS testing to confirm they are free from THC, formaldehyde, and heavy metals. The study marks a milestone for the firm, which is now seeking international partnerships to expand the reach of its medical-grade sleep series, including pillows, mattress protectors, and sleep masks.
