The incoming group includes Ed Boll as Head of Derivatives Strategy, alongside Steve Ahn, Matthew Shaffer, Steven Weingroff, Nick Colucci, Julia Marcus, and Jia Li. William Visconto joins the firm in an external advisory capacity. The team brings a track record in high-touch and low-touch options execution, with specific proficiency in convertible arbitrage, volatility management, and event-driven investing.

By embedding these experts into its existing cash equities, high-yield, and prime services businesses, Oppenheimer intends to shift client interactions from simple trade execution toward long-term strategic partnerships. Steven Weingroff will focus on AI infrastructure and crypto-related equities, while Nick Colucci will leverage his background in biotech and healthcare derivatives to target catalyst-driven opportunities. According to John Hellier, Senior Managing Director of Equities, the move is designed to provide comprehensive support for institutional investors navigating increasingly complex capital structures and risk environments.
