HunterLab Expands Color Analysis with Vista L2 Spectrophotometer

The upgraded instrument targets manufacturers in the pharmaceutical, beverage, and edible oil sectors who face pressure to increase output without expanding headcount. By sharpening the separation between absorbance and light scattering, the system provides greater clarity when assessing product instability. The extended 710 nm range specifically supports chlorophyll measurement at 630, 670, and 710 nm, ensuring alignment with AOCS Cc 13d-55 standards for monitoring oxidation in edible oils.

Bob Weaver, President at HunterLab, noted that the system is designed to provide these enhanced capabilities without disrupting current operations. The unit retains the established transmission geometry and LED illumination of its predecessor but adds 32 GB of onboard storage and HDMI connectivity. Furthermore, the instrument utilizes interchangeable magnetic base plates and holders to accommodate a diverse array of samples, from vials and cuvettes to translucent plastic preforms, reducing the necessity for expensive specialty cells.
