The platform aims to bridge the disconnect between academic instruction and the foundational habits required for long-term professional success. By focusing on elementary-aged children, the company attempts to instill confidence and emotional management before classroom disruptions or behavioral challenges become entrenched. Dr. Jeff Pedersen, CEO of EdTechQuest, emphasizes that the initiative is a response to widespread concerns from educators and employers regarding the readiness of the next generation.
EdTechQuest Launches Sculoo to Tackle Workforce Readiness Early
Eighty-four percent of hiring managers believe high school graduates lack the preparation required for today's workforce, a gap that experts argue takes root long before graduation. Seeking to address this, EdTechQuest has launched Sculoo, a platform designed to foster self-regulation and leadership in elementary students through five-minute daily sessions.

Early implementation at Holy Cross School suggests the model yields measurable results. Principal Karen Geiger reported that within two weeks of use, teachers observed improved student focus, better emotional regulation, and higher levels of classroom participation. Steve Fouty, a strategic advisor to the project and director at DePauw University’s McDermond Center, notes that the platform’s strength lies in its scalability. According to Fouty, who previously managed financial operations at ExactTarget, early development of these capabilities is essential for improving economic mobility. The tool is currently available for a variety of environments, including traditional schools, homeschool networks, and youth organizations.
