A strategic push into the American semiconductor market begins in 2027, as Singapore-based MetaOptics prepares to install its Direct Laser Writer at the University of Arizona. The move aims to establish a localized 'mini foundry' capable of rapid metalens prototyping and pilot production for U.S. industry partners.
Executive Chairman Thng Chong Kim stated that the deployment is intended to provide technical validation while deepening ties with domestic partners. The facility will specifically target the growing demand for quick-turnaround production, enabling clients to move from initial design concepts to physical samples within weeks.
