The Dream Lab Challenge seeks to identify innovative applications for the UNO Q, a board designed to bridge the gap between traditional hardware and generative AI. Each of the four winning entries will receive a custom lab package valued at approximately $5,000, intended to facilitate further experimentation in Edge AI and advanced automation.
DigiKey and Arduino Launch $20,000 Hardware Design Challenge
Four creators will secure professional-grade equipment labs by demonstrating the potential of the new Arduino UNO Q microcontroller. DigiKey and Arduino are inviting engineers, students, and makers to submit projects that leverage the board's hybrid AI and hardware capabilities before the September 30 deadline.

David Sandys, senior director of technical enablement at DigiKey, noted that the UNO Q serves as an ideal foundation for next-generation engineering concepts. To qualify, U.S.-based applicants must be at least 18 years old and document their work as a project post on maker.io using the hashtag #UNOQDreamLab. Submissions will be evaluated based on technical execution, originality, and the project's overall potential impact. Guneet Bedi, senior director at Qualcomm, emphasized that the competition aims to foster curiosity among students, artists, and entrepreneurs as they build their prototypes.
