The company’s net operating income reached $3.61 per diluted share, up from $3.27 in the year-ago quarter. This performance continues a trend of double-digit growth in net operating income per share, a milestone the firm has achieved in eight of the last nine quarters. Total premium revenue saw a 7% increase, bolstered by strong underwriting margins across its life and health insurance divisions.

Operational gains were evident across several segments, most notably in the United American Division, which recorded a 29% jump in health premiums. Meanwhile, the Liberty National and Family Heritage divisions both reported a 10% increase in their respective underwriting margins. To manage capital effectively, the company repurchased 1.1 million shares of common stock during the quarter, totaling $175 million in expenditures.

Management emphasized that these results reflect consistent profitability, even as the company navigates broader economic variables. The firm maintains a stable investment portfolio, with 97% of its fixed maturities rated as investment grade, providing a hedge against market volatility. Globe Life remains focused on its core protection products as it moves into the second half of the year.
