The bank reported a 12 percent revenue increase, offsetting a rise in operating costs to €7.986 billion. Wealth management proved a primary engine for growth, contributing to a broader surge in assets under management. Total assets across the group reached €2.59 trillion, marking an 85.2 percent increase year-on-year, largely bolstered by the consolidation of AXA IM. Wealth management alone accounted for €543.4 billion of this total, or 21 percent of the group's assets.
BNP Paribas Net Income Surges 33 Percent in Second Quarter
A 33.4 percent jump in second-quarter 2026 net income brought BNP Paribas to €4.345 billion, as the Paris-based lender benefited from heightened transactional activity and the integration of AXA Investment Managers. Shares in the group have climbed 34.4 percent since the start of the year, reflecting strong investor confidence.

Financial health remains robust, with the Common Equity Tier 1 ratio reaching 13.0 percent by June 30, significantly exceeding the 10.43 percent regulatory threshold. Following this performance, the board declared an interim dividend of €3.23 per share for the first half of 2026. Looking toward long-term targets, management anticipates a return on tangible equity of 12 percent for the current year, with projections to exceed 13 percent by 2028 as the cost-to-income ratio trends toward 56 percent.
