TransDigm to Acquire Prince & Izant for $1.066 Billion
TransDigm Group has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Cleveland-based Prince & Izant, a specialist in high-performance brazing alloys, for $1.066 billion in cash. The deal integrates a manufacturer deeply embedded in the aerospace and defense supply chain into TransDigm’s expansive portfolio of proprietary aircraft components.
TransDigm CEO Mike Lisman noted that the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy of targeting proprietary, custom-engineered products that command aftermarket demand. The transaction, which includes specific tax benefits, remains subject to standard regulatory approvals. If finalized, the integration will expand TransDigm’s footprint in metallurgy, reinforcing its position as a primary supplier for the global aerospace and defense sectors.
