Objectway Moves to Acquire French Software Specialist SLIB

European wealthtech provider Objectway has entered exclusive negotiations to purchase the stakes held by BNP Paribas and Natixis in SLIB. This strategic bid for the Paris-based capital markets software firm marks the company's second major acquisition in less than a month, signaling an aggressive expansion of its European footprint.

The proposed transaction, which remains subject to regulatory approval and consultation with employee representative bodies, is slated to close by December 31, 2026. By integrating SLIB, Objectway aims to push beyond its current focus on client lifecycle and portfolio management into the trading and execution layers of the market. This move adds critical capabilities in securities processing, clearing, settlement, and risk management to its existing platform.

Founded in 1988 from the Lyon Stock Exchange’s IT department, SLIB employs over 140 professionals across Paris, Lyon, and Lisbon. The acquisition would provide Objectway with a deeper presence in the French market and a new operational hub in Portugal. This follows the company's recent purchase of FNZ Switzerland SA and its January 2024 acquisition of Canadian firm Nest Wealth, moves that continue to scale a platform currently overseeing more than €2 trillion in assets.
