Envision and Kallista Launch 386 MWh Storage Site in France

Construction is underway in Hauts-de-France on the 193 MW Neuilly-en-Thelle battery storage project, a joint venture between Envision Energy and Kallista Energy. Expected to go live by early 2028, the site represents a significant expansion of the partnership following their inaugural project in Saleux.

The facility will utilize Envision AESC lithium iron phosphate cells manufactured at the company’s regional gigafactory, which has been active since June 2025. By integrating local production with long-term lifecycle management—including end-of-life battery recycling—the companies aim to bolster the resilience of the French national grid. Once functional, the 386 MWh system will offer frequency regulation services to RTE, balancing supply and demand for a capacity equivalent to the daily needs of 30,000 households.

Henry Peng, Senior Vice President at Envision Energy, noted that the project underscores a shared commitment to European energy transition goals through scalable technology. Johann Tardy, CEO of Kallista Energy, highlighted that the site builds upon the operational framework established during their previous collaboration. This infrastructure is designed to facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources, supporting broader electrification efforts across the region as the project moves toward its 25-year operational lifecycle.
