PIMCO Brings StocksPLUS Strategy to UCITS ETF Market

PIMCO is expanding its European fund lineup by converting its long-standing StocksPLUS strategy into a UCITS ETF format. The new PIMCO Advantage StocksPLUS US Large Cap UCITS ETF aims to marry US equity exposure with active fixed income management, marking a significant shift in how the firm distributes its flagship investment products.

Pioneered in 1986, the StocksPLUS strategy attempts to outperform the S&P 500 Index by layering fixed income alpha over equity market exposure. By launching the ETF share class, the firm intends to address the persistent difficulty of achieving active equity outperformance while providing investors with a more liquid, accessible vehicle. Tina Adatia, executive vice president and head of product strategy for EMEA and APAC, noted that this launch bridges the gap between the firm's established investment history and modern portfolio construction needs.

Beginning 24 July 2026, the fund will be available for trading on major European exchanges, including the London Stock Exchange, Borsa Italiana, SIX, and Deutsche Börse. To balance the demands of portfolio management with investor transparency, the fund will disclose its holdings on a quarterly basis with a 30-day lag.
