The new facility abandons traditional teller lines for an open-concept design featuring living room-style meeting areas. According to bank leadership, the space is engineered to foster relationship-focused banking rather than purely transactional service. Lou Torchio, president and CEO of Northwest Bank, characterized the opening as a milestone for the company’s momentum in the state.
Northwest Bank Launches Central Ohio Expansion in New Albany
Ribbon-cutting shears sliced through a ceremonial banner at 5746 N. Hamilton Road this week, marking Northwest Bank's official entry into the Central Ohio market. The New Albany location serves as the first of five planned financial centers intended to anchor the institution’s growing footprint in the Columbus region.

Beyond the physical branch, the bank is attempting to integrate into the local social fabric through existing partnerships with the New Albany Symphony Orchestra, the New Albany Community Foundation, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Ohio. This community-first strategy is a prelude to further growth, with additional sites scheduled for Gahanna, Westerville, and Columbus. Three of these locations are expected to open by the end of 2026, with the final site slated for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
