Energy analyst Dr. Tammy Nemeth hosted Michelle Stirling, communications manager for the Friends of Science Society, to challenge the prevailing climate catastrophe narrative. Stirling pointed to the collapse of foundational arguments, including the RCP 8.5 climate scenario, which she noted has been deemed implausible by the scientific community. Despite this, the scenario continues to influence Canada’s Sustainable Finance Taxonomy.
The organization’s latest report, titled The Green Grendel and authored by retired economist Robert Lyman, likens the climate activist movement to the insatiable monster from the epic poem Beowulf. Lyman argues that activists remain impervious to opposition, regardless of the economic reality or the retraction of key studies. He specifically cited the 2024 Kotz et al. report, which was retracted by Nature after central bankers relied on its exaggerated climate damage functions for risk analysis.
