Cboe Global Markets Posts Record Revenue as Options Trading Surges

Cboe Global Markets reported record net revenue of $731.6 million for the second quarter of 2026, a 25 percent increase over the same period last year. Driven by a surge in index options volume, the Chicago-based exchange operator saw its diluted earnings per share climb 50 percent to $3.35.

The company's performance was anchored by its Derivatives business, which delivered a 30 percent increase in net revenue. This growth was fueled by a 26 percent rise in total options average daily volume and a 6 percent boost in revenue per contract. The results prompted management to raise its 2026 organic total net revenue growth target to the "mid to high teens" range, up from previous projections of "low double-digit to mid teens."

CEO Craig Donohue attributed the performance to the firm's strategic focus on expanding event contracts and enhancing around-the-clock market access. While North American Equities and the Data Vantage segment also posted double-digit gains, Cboe remains focused on disciplined capital management, including ongoing share repurchases and strategic divestitures like the planned sale of its Australian business. Despite a rise in operating expenses—largely tied to staff severance and performance-based bonuses—the firm reaffirmed its full-year adjusted operating expense guidance of $838 to $853 million.
