Sterling Group Exits Synthetic Materials Maker Tangent Technologies
The Sterling Group has finalized the sale of Aurora-based Tangent Technologies to Platinum Equity, marking the conclusion of an eight-year investment cycle. While the financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, the move follows a period during which the manufacturer of high-performance synthetic materials more than tripled its total size.

Financial advisory services for the deal were provided by Moelis and Lincoln, while McDermott Will & Schulte acted as legal counsel. The Sterling Group, which manages approximately $9 billion in assets, continues to focus on middle-market buyouts within the industrial services and manufacturing sectors.
