The Maryland Marketing Partnership is highlighting a surge in corporate activity aimed at bolstering the state's economic competitiveness. Among the notable developments, M&T Bank has committed to a $621 million refinancing package for Merritt Properties, supporting industrial growth across the Baltimore-Washington corridor. Simultaneously, St. John Properties is expanding its footprint in the aerospace sector by providing a 69,000-square-foot facility for Intuitive Machines at BWI Tech Park to support robotic systems and spaceflight hardware development.
Healthcare and retail sectors are also seeing significant expansion. The Merriweather District in Columbia is adding a CloseKnit primary care practice to its growing healthcare cluster, while National Harbor continues to diversify its offerings with the opening of Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao. These commercial shifts are supported by community-focused initiatives, including BGE’s recent distribution of nearly $200,000 in safety and environmental grants to local nonprofits.
