The project will utilize 25 of Envision’s EN-226/8.X YE wind turbines, specifically engineered to perform in the low-to-medium wind conditions common across Southeast Asian nearshore waters. Delivery of the hardware is slated to commence in the second quarter of 2027. This initiative builds on the previous 128 MW Vinh Long wind collaboration between the two companies, signaling a shift toward larger, more integrated energy systems in the region.
Envision Energy and REE Energy Launch 200 MW Nearshore Wind Project
A 200-megawatt nearshore wind project in Vietnam is set to become the largest of its kind for Envision Energy, following a new partnership agreement with REE Energy. The Phu Cuong 1A and 1B development marks a major expansion of regional clean energy infrastructure, with grid connection expected by October 2027.
Edward Hou, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy’s Asia-Pacific division, emphasized that the project serves as a proving ground for matching local resource needs with AI-powered management and energy storage. Nguyen Quang Quyen, Managing Director of REE Energy, noted that the success of the Vinh Long project provided the foundation for this expanded scale. The partnership aims to establish a replicable model for engineering and lifecycle maintenance that can be deployed across the broader ASEAN market.
