WuXi AppTec Posts Strong H1 Growth and Lifts Full-Year Outlook

Shanghai-based pharmaceutical giant WuXi AppTec reported a 38.9% revenue surge to RMB 28.90 billion for the first half of 2026, prompting the company to raise its full-year financial guidance as its integrated CRDMO platform continues to benefit from the commercial success of its customers' drug products.

The company’s adjusted non-IFRS net profit climbed 83.2% to RMB 11.57 billion, while its backlog for continuing operations expanded to RMB 66.43 billion. Chairman and CEO Dr. Ge Li attributed these gains to the company’s unique integrated CRDMO model and the performance of global partners. Bolstered by these results, the company increased its 2026 revenue target to a range of RMB 58.5–60.5 billion, up significantly from previous forecasts.

Despite the positive financial trajectory, WuXi AppTec remains entangled in geopolitical headwinds. The company is currently challenging its inclusion on the U.S. Department of Defense's 1260H list, labeling the designation as factually and legally unsupported. While pursuing legal action to address the listing, management continues to prioritize infrastructure growth, raising its capital expenditure budget to RMB 7.5–8.5 billion to accelerate facility expansions, including the early initiation of a new site in Changzhou. The company maintained an 'AAA' MSCI ESG rating and reported passing 486 total quality and information security audits during the period with no critical findings.
