Reto Marx Takes Helm of Sygnum Bank’s Singapore Operations

Gerald Goh, the firm’s co-founder and current Asia-Pacific head, will pivot to become executive chairman of Sygnum APAC. In this capacity, Goh shifts his focus toward groupwide capital markets, fundraising, and investor relations. The leadership change highlights Singapore’s continued importance as a primary hub for the group’s services, which cater to high-net-worth investors and institutional partners.

Marx brings significant experience from his time at UBS, Credit Suisse, and Bank Sarasin, alongside his recent leadership at VP Bank Singapore. At Sygnum, he will collaborate with group CEO Mathias Imbach to drive the bank’s strategic initiatives and stakeholder management. The move comes as Sygnum leverages its existing regulatory footprint, which includes a CMS and Major Payment Institution license in Singapore, as well as operational licenses in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Abu Dhabi, and Luxembourg. Since its 2019 founding, the bank has focused on professional services ranging from regulated custody to credit and trading.
