SMARTLINEN Debuts AI Assistant to Automate Hotel Linen Management

Miami-based SMARTLINEN has unveiled Ask Debbie, an AI-driven tool designed to interpret complex textile inventory data for hotel housekeeping and laundry departments. By shifting from manual report analysis to conversational inquiries, the platform aims to streamline stock tracking and reduce operational losses across its network of 250 locations.

The tool functions by processing millions of daily inventory scan events captured through the company’s hardware, creating a specialized intelligence layer for the hospitality sector. Users can bypass traditional data mining by querying the system on specific operational pain points, such as current towel shortages, textile end-of-life status, or necessary replenishment volumes. This shift targets the time-intensive nature of manual inventory counts and report filtering.

According to Marlon Serbin, Vice President of Sales at SMARTLINEN, the system is engineered to function as a domain-specific expert rather than a general-purpose AI. By leveraging a database that monitors over one million textile assets monthly, the software provides actionable recommendations for inventory optimization and cost reduction. The integration of this assistant reflects a broader industry push to treat textile circulation as a strategic asset rather than a recurring overhead expense.
