San Francisco-based Cephia, a specialist in AI-native image sensors, has appointed Mike McAuliffe as its new President and CEO. The move aims to accelerate the commercial deployment of the company’s lensless, multimodal imaging technology, which is currently targeting high-growth sectors ranging from industrial robotics to defense and autonomous automotive systems.
Cephia’s technology disrupts traditional imaging by eliminating bulky lens stacks, opting instead to fuse silicon metasurfaces with computational processing. This approach significantly optimizes the cost, size, weight, and power profile of machine vision hardware.
