The rebranding effort does not signal a shift in ownership or capability. The Saco facility, located at 751 Portland Rd., continues to provide body work and paint services for customers across the state. By adopting the Group 1 name, the site aims to provide a more consistent experience for drivers who visit any of the company’s regional dealerships, rather than serving only those who purchased vehicles at the neighboring Saco stores.
Group 1 Automotive Rebrands Saco Collision Center
Ira Collision Center North is now Group 1 Collision Saco, marking the latest step in a nationwide initiative to unify the Houston-based retailer's branding. The name change, effective August 5, 2026, aligns the Maine facility with the company's broader network while maintaining its existing staff and repair operations.
General Manager Dennis Steeves noted that the facility remains committed to local relationships, acting as a standalone hub for the entire Maine customer base. Since Group 1 Automotive acquired the location in November 2021, it has functioned as part of a larger portfolio that now encompasses 32 collision centers and 251 dealerships across the United States and the United Kingdom.
