Verdantas Acquires Sherwood Design Engineers to Bolster Green Infrastructure
Verdantas is expanding its environmental consulting footprint by acquiring San Francisco-based Sherwood Design Engineers, a firm known for integrating natural systems into urban development. The deal adds 120 specialists to the Verdantas roster, enhancing expertise in climate resilience, water resources, and ecological restoration across the U.S. and Latin America.

Jesse Kropelnicki, CEO of Verdantas, noted that the acquisition aligns with the firm’s strategy to deliver integrated solutions for communities facing complex environmental challenges. Bry Sarte, founder of Sherwood, emphasized that joining the larger organization will provide the resources necessary to scale the firm’s impact. The transaction was facilitated by 2020 Environmental Group, which served as the exclusive M&A advisor to Sherwood, while Sterling Investment Partners supported the deal as part of its ongoing investment in the technical consulting space.
