Grant Puleo Joins Greenberg Traurig to Bolster San Diego Real Estate

Grant Puleo, a seasoned attorney known for navigating complex commercial property deals, has joined Greenberg Traurig’s San Diego office as a shareholder. Transitioning from Duane Morris, Puleo brings a dual-threat background in high-stakes transactional law and courtroom dispute resolution to the firm’s expanding California real estate division.

Puleo’s practice centers on multifamily and student housing, though his portfolio spans hospitality, industrial, and data center developments. He regularly counsels institutional investors, private equity firms, and developers through every phase of the project lifecycle, from initial acquisition and construction financing to complex joint ventures and final disposition. His arrival marks a strategic push by the firm to deepen its bench in the competitive California market, following the recent recruitment of Robert J. Brown in San Diego and Eric Hieber and Ann Lee in San Francisco.

Beyond his transactional work, Puleo maintains a focus on risk management and business litigation, a skillset that firm leadership expects will prove vital for clients facing an increasingly volatile economic landscape. A graduate of the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law, Puleo is also an active academic, currently serving as an adjunct professor at California Western School of Law and authoring professional guides on commercial real estate transactions. His move into the 50-plus-attorney California practice signals a shift toward a more integrated, full-service approach for Greenberg Traurig’s regional operations.
