Dodge CEO Matt McAlear and Hemmings programming director Mike Musto conceived the project during a performance drive through Death Valley. Tasked with pushing the limits of the new SIXPACK platform, builder Suppy Wejpanich of Suppy’s Garage completed the builds in just 60 days. The transformation required extensive fabrication, including a complete conversion from the stock all-wheel-drive automatic setup to a competition-spec manual transmission and rear-wheel-drive layout.
Dodge and Hemmings Unveil 750-Horsepower SIXPACK Drift Machines
Born from a conversation in the California desert, two production-based Dodge Charger Scat Pack models have been transformed into professional-grade 750-horsepower drift machines. Debuting at Roadkill Nights, the custom BOOST coupe and RPM sedan ditch their factory all-wheel-drive systems for manual-shifted, rear-wheel-drive configurations built to shred tires.
The two vehicles serve distinct purposes: the two-door BOOST Coupe is optimized for pure performance, while the four-door RPM—short for Rapid People Mover—is designed to haul passengers during drift exhibitions. Both cars utilize high-output forced induction, with the BOOST Coupe running a single-turbo Turbosmart setup and the RPM utilizing a modified twin-turbo configuration. Beyond the engine bay, the cars feature MoTeC management, rear-mounted cooling, and a Bulldog quick-change rear end. Fans can track the build process through a nine-part video series on Hemmings’ YouTube channel, with the cars scheduled to appear at Gridlife in Laguna Seca and FuelFest in Arizona.
