The collaboration links HanchorBio’s proprietary Fc-Based Designer Biologics platform with the extensive translational research capabilities of the Taiwan Cancer Moonshot. By analyzing patient-derived datasets, the partners intend to decode the biological drivers of treatment response and resistance, specifically focusing on macrophage-mediated regulation and T-cell functional states. This effort seeks to move beyond traditional checkpoint inhibition by tailoring immunotherapy strategies to specific molecular profiles prevalent in Asian populations.
HanchorBio Partners with Taiwan Cancer Moonshot to Refine Immunotherapy
HanchorBio has formalized a strategic partnership with a National Taiwan University research team, led by Professor Sung-Liang Yu, to integrate deep multi-omics data into the company’s drug development pipeline. The collaboration aims to leverage the Taiwan Cancer Moonshot Project’s molecular insights to sharpen patient selection and therapeutic precision.

For HanchorBio, the alliance serves as a transition from a clinical-stage developer to a precision-focused ecosystem. Professor Sung-Liang Yu, who chairs the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Medical Biotechnology at National Taiwan University, noted that the partnership provides a direct path to apply academic discoveries in proteogenomics to active drug programs. The joint initiative will prioritize the identification of predictive biomarkers to refine clinical trial designs and improve efficacy for next-generation immunotherapies.
