Diners can now bypass the wait for a check at establishments using Toast, thanks to a new integration with Tabbed. The partnership combines Bluetooth-enabled mobile payments with AI-driven guest insights, allowing customers to settle bills automatically while providing restaurant staff with real-time data on guest preferences and dining history.
Operational efficiency remains a core goal of the partnership. Data from a six-month pilot at an Atlanta restaurant showed that the system reduced payment-related service time by more than nine minutes per table, while average tips increased by 24 percent. Grant Pignio, CEO of Tabbed, noted that the technology bridges the gap between digital efficiency and human connection by surfacing guest details—such as allergies or past orders—the moment a table is seated. This allows staff to focus on the dining experience rather than manual record-keeping.
